Series "People"
The modern way of life, culture and society increase the differences between individuals, thus dividing them into two categories: famous, powerful, who stand out, those who are talked about and those others, for the most part impersonal and the same, who talk. The value of these others has been lost, all public eyes are on those who stand out, whether in a positive or negative context, their every move and gesture is closely monitored, their entire life, which is often every day, but skillfully hidden behind a false glow , codes of conduct for celebrities and “stage lights”. In this whole game of celebrities and the media, I would ask the question, where has the true value of man been lost, the one that lies in him and makes him a man? I believe that every being is a perfect, very complex cosmos for itself and that, as such, it deserves the attention of the observer, who is usually absent. Precisely to distract people a little from “big topics and people” and divert their attention to the everyday world around them, to the people in their environment who most often see every day, who think they pose, without ever trying to fully understand them, to enter their world and look for the essential value of each of them, to look at them from the most humane point of view and be aware that there is a man standing in front of them, that is the reason for the creation of my paintings.
Painting portraits of my friends, family, acquaintances, trying to discover in them that, at first glance, invisible essence, a new vision of them appeared before me, which I tried to transfer to paper and thus tear it from oblivion and the “grayness” of our vision. . Adhering to the monumental format, I tried to emphasize this humane feature of every man and give it importance, attracting and leading the viewer to look for it, looking for it, wandering with his eyes on the surface of paper and paint, with the goal not only to recognize it in the picture. , but also to arouse his interest in other people, closer and dearer to him.
